By 8:10 p.m., the bulk of the fire was out, MCFRS spokesperson Beth Anne Nesselt said. Two firefighters and two building occupants were taken to a local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, MCFRS Assistant Chief Scott Graham tweeted.

When the first batch of rescue workers arrived at the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m., smoke and fire had spread throughout the building and had extended through the roof. Additional rescue workers were needed, Nesselt said.

The “crews performed an aggressive interior attack, and firefighters have performed multiple rescues,” Nesselt told Patch.

As of 8:15 p.m., the “initial, unconfirmed information” was that the fire had begun on the second floor and had spread throughout the building, Nesselt said.
