Buck, there will be an article about the meeting on Patch today. I'll post a link when it's up, including a pdf of the actual resolution that all five commissioners signed.

ReplyGood morning Patchers! Just a reminder that we want to keep the comments civil so that folks feel that they can come here to have a conversation, to share opinions, to debate local issues, without being personally attacked. Please keep your comments directed at the article topic and refrain from name calling or trying to personally offend other commenters. On that note, did anyone attend the forum last night? What did you think?

Again JoAnn, to be clear, I have absolutely no control over who gets the email notices when comments are posted, and I find it unlikely that our IT crews in New York or other parts of the country are conspiring against you. I will say this -- you must first comment on an article in order to receive email notices when other comments are posted. It seems like every time you accuse Patch of with holding email notifications, it is the first time you have commented on the article. You must first comment on an article to be included in email notifications for future comments on that particular article. Perhaps you're confusing the newsletter subscription (where you get headlines in your email box every morning) with emails alerting you to comments on an article. Once you comment on an article then you can elect to receive (or elect to not receive) email notifications when future comments are posted to that single article. I have no control over that and do not know who elects to receive or not receive future comments -- it's all automated and out of my hands.

I don't see calling someone a sychophant any different than accusing someone of being paranoid or crazy. Additionally, elected public officials have put themselves in a position to field more criticism (and praise) than every day folks. I will remove posts that use foul language or are just name-calling for the sake of name calling. But suggesting a politician is self-serving, well, I don't see that as name calling... the poster just used an SAT word to do it. Thanks for your feedback.
