UPDATE: Montgomery Village Man Found

UPDATE 1:30 p.m. Nov. 1: Daniel Leon Stith, a 49-year-old Montgomery Village man who went missing three weeks ago, has been found. Investigators did not provide any information on when, where or how he was found. "They were only able to advise that he was located unharmed,” said Angela Cruz, a Montgomery County Police spokeswoman. UPDATE: Missing Gaithersburg Man Found in Bethesda

Sixty-four-year-old Ronald Joseph Abbate was missing for two weeks.

UPDATE: Ronald Joseph Abbate was located in Bethesda and reunited with his family. He was unharmed. Original Post 10/19: Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Gaithersburg man who has been missing for a week. Ronald Joseph Abbate, 64 years old, of the 8200 block of Pepperwood Lane, walked away from his residence on Oct. 13 and has not been seen or heard from since. Abbate suffers from dimentia and his family is concerned for his welfare. He wandered away from home before, but returned after a few days, familiy members said. He does not have a vehicle. Update, Aug. 13, 6:33 a.m.: Dozens of firefighters in Aruba serached an abandoned phosphate mine Friday in an attempt to find Robyn Gardner, the New York Daily News reported. The mine is near where Gardner is said to have gone missing Aug. 2 after snorkeling expedition with Gary V. Giordano. Also on Friday, Aruban authorities said they believe Gardner is no longer alive, Fox News reported. They are seeking to extend a detention order for Giordano, as they seek witnesses who will help them build a case against him, said Taco Stein, solicitor general on the Dutch Caribbean island. Gaithersburg Business Owner Investigated for Aruba Disappearance

He claims the Bethesda woman he was with washed away while scuba diving.

A Gaithersburg business owner is being investigated by police in Aruba for the disappearance of a 35-year-old Bethesda woman, NBC reports. On Friday, authorities detained Gary Giordano, 50, of Gaithersburg, as he was trying to leave Aruba. Robyn Gardner of Bethesda was last seen Aug. 2 at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad, Aruba, according to the Washington Post. The Aruba Herald is reporting that Giordano, the man she was traveling with, told authorities there that she disappeared during a snorkeling excursion. NBC reports that Giordano has had several restraining orders against him in Montgomery County by former girlfriends who claim he stalked and physically abused them. Vigil for Jane Doe to Be Held Sunday in Frederick

Missing Persons Network and state police mark 20 years since her body was found along I-270.

Sunday marks 20 years since a worker cutting weeds along southbound Interstate 270 in Frederick County found the body of a young woman. The woman, whose decomposed body was found down an embankment at the Baker Hill Road overpass, has never been identified and her killing remains unsolved. The Maryland Missing Persons Network and Maryland State Police will hold a vigil to bring attention to the cold case at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday in the parking lot of the Worthington Farm on Baker Hill Road at Monocacy National Battlefield. UPDATE, 9 p.m. May 25 -- A 13-year-old Montgomery Village girl has been found "safe and unharmed" and is back with her family -- more than two weeks since her family had last seen her. Elizabeth "Lizzy" Devalle, of Docena Court in the South Village neighborhood of Montgomery Village, was found today in Germantown, according to Montgomery County Police.
