Gaithersburg Woman Caught Stealing More Than $1,600 In Merchandise From Department Store

Kristin Ashley Delmar, 24, is charged with theft at Boscov's department store in Frederick, The Frederick News Post reports.

A Gaithersburg woman faces charges of theft between $1,000 and $10,000 for allegedly shoplifting from a Frederick department store last week, The Frederick News-Post reports. Police said Kristin Ashley Delmar, 24, of the first block of Hilton Court, stole more than $1,600 worth of merchandise from Boscov's deparment store, according to the report. Store employees stopped Delmar in the parking lot as she was trying to leave. She allegedly was found to have 6 rings, 26 necklaces, 17 watches, 5 pairs of earrings and 9 pieces of clothing in her purse, according to the report. Delmar was released from the Frederick County Adult Detention Center after posting $5,000 bail. Read the full story on The Frederick News-Post.

Montgomery Village Artist Featured In Frederick Exhibit

Some of Chris Noel's recent work is on display through Jan. 27 at The Artists’ Gallery in Frederick, The Gazette reported.

A Montgomery Village artist is taking his work north. Chris Noel, known for using bits of trash or recycling in his three-dimensional paintings, will have 20 pieces on display through Jan. 27 at an exhibit at The Artists’ Gallery in Frederick, The Gazette reported. "These paintings are basically collections of various items that no longer seem useful (trash)," Noel says on his website. "The sad thing is that I often don't need to look any further than my own home or office to find an abundance of material. It's almost inconceivable to me how much waste our culture manages to generate." Titled “Long After They Came for Us,” Noel's exhibit will feature some of the three-dimensional paintings along with the debut of his “Faces in the Dark” …

...the Gaithersburg Board of Supervisors of Elections?

Gaithersburg's election board—the same one that last year thought it would be a good idea to ignore the United States Supreme Court—will be in the City of Frederick this afternoon. Why? Frederick is setting up their own Board of Supervisors of Elections, according to Gaithersburg City Attorney Lynn Board, and they want some advice. According to the City of Frederick website, their Board of Supervisors of Elections held their first official meeting on Nov. 30, 2011, and have met just two other times since then. This afternoon's meeting will be their fourth. On today's agenda: "Discussion of Election Processes and Procedures in Preparation for The City of Frederick 2013 Elections."
