Adventist HealthCare Moves Corporate Office To Gaithersburg

City contributed $160,000 in economic development grant funding to help with renovations

For the first time since 1996, Adventist HealthCare calls somewhere other than Rockville its home. Adventist HealthCare, the largest health system in Montgomery County, completed the move of its corporate office to Gaithersburg, according to a news release. The new location is at 820 W. Diamond Ave., in a building just off I-270 and Clopper Road, across from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Adventist announced. The new building allows the organization to improve office space for its approximately 300 employees and realize savings on its current lease. WaPo: Adventist Negotiating Deal to Sell 40 Acres in Clarksburg

The land was part of the site proposed for Clarksburg Hospital, a bid it lost to Holy Cross

Shopping center developers are eying 40 acres of Clarksburg land Adventist HealthCare hopes to sell, The Washington Post reports. The story named Simon Property Group as a likely buyer, with Fairfax, VA-based Peterson Cos. listed as a competitor. The land for sale was part of the 120 acres Adventist had hoped would become Clarksburg Hospital, serving residents Upcounty, The Post reports. Ultimately, Maryland Health Care Commission wound up approving Holy Cross Hospital’s plans to build in Germantown, Patch has reported. Gaithersburg Woman Named To Adventist HealthCare Board of Trustees

Nancy Hardwick, a Gaithersburg resident, is currently a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc.

A Gaithersburg woman has been named to Adventist HealthCare's Board of Trustees. Nancy Hardwick, a Gaithersburg resident, is currently a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton — a $6 billion management and technology consulting company. She joins the board for a three-year term, according to an announcement. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve on Adventist HealthCare’s Board of Trustees and to support the organization as it provides vital health services to the growing region,” Hardwick said. Update: 12 Legislators Back Adventist Hospital Plan

A group of 12 delegates and senators submitted a letter to the Maryland Healthcare Commission Thursday, in support of the Adventist Healthcare hospital plan for Clarksburg.

A group of 12 senators and delegates from the Maryland General Assembly have weighed in on the pending decision on the location for a new upcounty hospital. The group jointly signed and submitted a letter to the Maryland Healthcare Commission in support of Adventist Healthcare’s proposal for a hospital in Clarksburg.  The letter references the recommendation of the Holy Cross hospital in Germantown, made by Marilyn Moon, Ph.D., chair of the Maryland Health Care Commission. Within the letter, the group gives four reasons for their position.
