Gaithersburg News Briefs: Indoor Flea Market Returns, 18th Annual Chinese Calligraphy Exhibit and More

The city of Gaithersburg released the following news this week: Habit-Forming Musical Nunsense A-Men! Takes Arts Barn Stage In partnership with Rockville Musical Theatre, the Arts Barn presents the musical comedy Nunsense A-Men! The show runs April 5 through 21, 2013, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission is $18, $16 for City of Gaithersburg residents. This show contains adult language and parental guidance is suggested. Described as “Mrs. Doubtfire enters the convent,” Nunsense A-Men! replaces the traditional female cast ofthe original Nunsense with men playing the Little Sisters of Hoboken. Skate Park To Open Next Friday With Free Admission For 2013

The City of Gaithersburg Skate Park will open for the 2013 season at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013.

Skaterboarders, inline skaters, BMX bikers take note: Gaithersburg's skate park is re-opening next week and it won't cost anything to get in. Located behind the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, the Skate Park opens Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m., the city announced. Regular hours are 3 p.m. to sunset Monday through Friday and noon to sunset on weekends. The 2013 season will be free for all visitors. Previously, daily admission cost $3 for city residents, $5 for non-residents, a spokesperson for the city said. Extended hours will be in place during spring break, March 22 through April 2, when the park will open daily at noon. Skateboarders and inline skaters are welcome during all sessions. Gaithersburg News Briefs: Cupcake Class, Art Display, Geocache Treasure Hunt

The city of Gaithersburg released the following information this week: Sweet Family Fun at Kentlands Mansion Cupcake Class Kentlands Mansion invites parents and kids to a Mommy/Daddy and Me Cupcake Decorating Class on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. Taught by Bella’s Sweet Treat, families will learn kid-friendly, step-by-step piping, icing and decorating tricks to create their very own tasty masterpiece.  This event is open to children ages 5 to 12 and their parents. Admission is $35 for one child and one adult.
