The Great Pumpkin Race and Fall Festival

Don’t miss the Village’s signature community event! The Great Pumpkin Race and Fall Festival is the most exciting activity that your entire family can participate in! It’s easy, it’s wacky and you, your family, your organization and friends can all be part of it!

Get ready for tasty food and delicious treats, highly talented and entertaining rock cover band, “45 RPM” (60s through 90s pop music), The Gaithersburg Fine Art Association’s show and sale, kids’ crafts, interactive amusements and games for the entire family are all fantastic warm up’s for the featured event—The Great Pumpkin Race!

The Great Pumpkin Race is a unique side-by-side, single-elimination race featuring handcrafted, decorated pumpkin race cars, in a madcap, dramatic explosion of creative ingenuity. The referee rules the race, building excitement as registered pumpkin race car owners compete for the Pumpkin Race Championship Trophy. Style matters, as prizes will be awarded for Best Decoration and Most Innovative Design, funniest, scariest, best disguised and best Montgomery Village “Impumpkination.”

MVF will give a free pumpkin racer kit to the first 50 families, groups or organizations who register!

Pumpkin Racer Kits can be purchased for $20, (pumpkin not included—a limited number of pumpkins will be available for sale on the day of the festival, or provide your own), and picked up at the MVF Office beginning Monday, Aug. 20.
