State Sen. David R. Brinkley is in and former Montgomery County Councilwoman Duchy Trachtenberg is out in the race for the 6th District Congressional seat, according to reports.
Trachtenberg is dropping out due to a recurrence of breast cancer, the political blog Maryland Juice reported Wednesday. Trachtenberg, a Democrat from North Bethesda who that she would run in the , delivered the news in a press release on her campaign website.

Meanwhile, candidates are lining up for other races ahead of next Tuesday’s filing deadline, The Gazette reported. Among them are Sen. C. Anthony Muse (D-Dist. 26) of Fort Washington, who is expected to announce Thursday that he will challenge U.S. Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin (D) of Pikesville.
