Vehicle Break-Ins, Graffiti Found at Church

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. Arrests do not imply guilt.

A residential burglary occurred in the 7200 block of Cypress Hill Drive—off Woodfield Road outside Gaithersburg— between noon and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30 No forced entry; property taken.

Graffiti was discovered on the dumpster and recycle bins of the on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

A residential burglary was reported in the 8200 block of Amity Drive—just north of Washington Grove—between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. Forced entry; property taken.

An aggravated assault occurred at the McDonald’s at 9102 Rothbury Drive shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. The incident involved parties known to each other. The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim then fled.

Four attempted thefts from vehicles occurred just after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 4 in the parking garage of 8 Russell Avenue. Two suspects forced entry, but obtained no property. Both suspects are described as males 18 or 19 years old. One suspect is 6’1” tall with thin build, wearing a light blue jacket and a white tee shirt.

A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 18600 block of Cross Country Lane outside Gaithersburg between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5. No forced entry; items taken include a camera, a laptop computer and cash.
