Two Sex Assaults, Two Burglaries, Two Robberies

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. Arrests do not imply guilt.

• A residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Sharpstead Lane in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, June 8. Forced entry; no property taken. A 19-year-old male from Montgomery Village was arrested.
• A sexual assault occurred at the Shell gas station in the Montgomery Village Center on at around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8. A 34-year-old male from Montgomery Village was arrested.
• A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of Plum Creek Drive in East Village on Wednesday 6/8 between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.  No force; property taken.
• An attempted robbery occurred in the 9800 block of Dockside Terrace in South Village at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8. No property was taken. The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, with a heavy build and wearing a black hoodie.
• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Heritage Farm Court in East Village at around 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 9. Entry attempted; no property taken.
• A residential burglary occurred in the 9400 block of Chadburn Place in North Village at 4:30 am. On Friday, June 10. Forced entry; no property taken. A 37-year-old male of unknown address was arrested.
• A rape was reported near Chadburn Place and Jarrett Court in North Village between 2 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 11. Police have not provided additional information.
• A robbery occurred at the intersection of Mattingly Terrace and Hadley Farms Drive outside Gaithersburg on Saturday, June 11. Victim assaulted; no property taken. The suspect is described as a black male, 19 years old, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, and weighing 290 to 300 pounds.

Police believe a pair of thefts from vehicles parked near the Montgomery County Airpark may be related:

• Forced entry and property taken between Monday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 8 in the 18600 block of Mooney Drive
• Forced entry and property taken between Sunday, June 12 and Monday, June 13 in the 18900 block of Bonanza Way.
