A 27-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested for burglaries at a Gaithersburg restaurant and office building, police said.
Larry Harris Jr., of Banquo Terrace, was charged with second and fourth degree burglary and theft less than $1,000 in two burglaries on South Frederick Avenue.
On Jan. 9, police from both Gaithersburg and Montgomery County responded to Burma Road Restaurant, located at 617 South Fredrick Avenue, at 10:42 p.m. for the report of a commercial burglar alarm, police said. An unknown suspect had entered the business through a window and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
Police said Harris was observed fleeing from the direction of the restaurant and was subsequently charged with burglary-related offenses.
A day later, police responded to an office building at 615 South Fredrick Avenue for a burglary that occurred earlier. During the evening hours an unknown suspect either entered or attempted to enter 11 office suites and removed property.
Police said Harris developed as a suspect for the Jan. 10 office burglaries during the investigation and was charged Monday with additional burglary-related offenses.
He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
