Reward Offered in 7-Eleven Robberies

Detectives believe the same shotgun-weilding suspects hit both convenience stores last month.

Montgomery County police are offering up to $1,000 for help in solving a pair of 7-Eleven armed robberies that occurred last month, both of which involved a sawed-off shotgun.

The first of the two robberies occurred shortly before midnight on Oct. 12 at the 7-Eleven in the Montgomery Village Center. The suspect entered with a sawed-off shotgun, ordered the cashier to put money in his white plastic bag, and was last seen running across the parking lot towards Watkins Mill Road.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored, quarter-length pea coat, blue jeans, a black scarf or cloth over his face, black sunglasses and black gloves.

The second robbery occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 at the 7-Eleven at 9051 Snouffer School Road — in the Horizon Run shopping center near the Montgomery County Airpark. The suspect displayed a sawed-off shotgun, ordered the cashier to put money into his white plastic bag, then fled on foot.

Prior to the Snouffer School Road robbery, a witness leaving the store saw two people outside wearing black masks. The suspect who went inside is described as a light-skinned male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a black jacket. The second suspect, who stayed outside, is described as dressed in all black and wearing dark sunglasses.
