Purse-Snatcher Thwarted in Cider Mill

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

  • An attempted purse-snatching occurred in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle, in the Cider Mill apartment complex, at around 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The female victim was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by a suspect who asked her if she had any money. When she said that she did not, the suspect allegedly tried to take her purse. The woman hit the suspect with her purse and ran to her apartment. The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, with short black hair.
