Police Investigate Motorcyclist's Death

Officers are asking anyone with information about a fatal accident on East Village Avenue late Thursday to contact authorities.

A man died after his motorcycle crashed into a median on East Village Avenue late Thursday, Montgomery County Police said in a press release.

The incident occurred a little before 10:22 p.m., when fire and rescue personnel arrived to find the unconscious 46-year-old and his black and burgundy Honda CB 750 lying in the road, police said.

The motorcycle had clearly struck a tree in the median, police said.

It is unclear what caused the vehicle to drive off the roadway at the East Village Avenue and Doubleland Road intersection, police said.

“For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle struck the left-side curb of the median after crossing over Doubleland Road,” the statement reads.

The man died on the scene, according to the statement.

Police said they would identify the man once his family has been notified.
