A North Potomac man has been charged with
first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing a Gaithersburg man to death early
Montgomery County Police were called to the 900 block of Curry Ford Lane about 2:30 a.m. July 4 for a reported stabbing. First responders found Bryan Robert Hall, 22, of Story Drive in Gaithersburg in the parking lot at that address suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local trauma center, where he later died.
Police say the victim and the suspect -- Pavel S. Ivanov, 24, of the 11100 block of Lake Breeze Drive in North Potomac -- knew each other and had agreed to meet outside at the Curry Ford Lane address.
They met, argued and the confrontation escalated into an assault with the defendant stabbing the victim multiple times, according to authorities.
After the assault, the defendant reportedly fled in his vehicle, and was later taken into custody in the 200 block of Spectrum Avenue in Gaithersburg.
