Naked Man at Pool, Charges Pending in SWAT Incident

Crime summary covers Aug. 8 through Aug. 16.

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Three thefts of vehicle parts occurred in the 7900 and 8000 blocks of Cessna Avenue—near the Montgomery County Airpark—overnight on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Catalytic converters from three Chevrolet vehicles were stolen.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Forest View Place in Northgate on Thursday, Aug. 11 between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. Forced entry; property removed.

A domestic-related sex assault was reported outside of , 18201 Contour Road in South Village on Saturday, Aug. 13. The investigation is ongoing.

A commercial burglary occurred at the pool at Apple Ridge Recreation Area, 10101 Apple Ridge Road between Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 14. Forced entry into the office; lockers and an office desk were searched but no property was stolen.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9200 block of Hummingbird Terrace in the Quail Valley community outside Gaithersburg on Sunday, Aug. 14. Entry attempted; no property stolen.

An indecent exposure occurred at the community pool in Thomas Choice—19401 Brassie Place—on Sunday, Aug. 14. A naked man exited the shower area and asked a female lifeguard for more soap. The suspect is described as a black male with short hair, 35 to 45 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 16600 block of Oakmont Ave. outside Gaithersburg at around 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. The alleged victim claims that an Hispanic male attempted to run him over with a Toyota Camry.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10100 block of Little Pond Place in Heron’s Cove between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14. Forced entry; property removed.

in South Village at around 4:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16. The adult male homeowner arrived at the home and began arguing with two of his tenants outside. One of the tenants brandished a machete. The tenants went inside and locked the owner out. One of the tenants pointed a long gun at the victim from a second floor window. SWAT teams were called, and after about an hour, both of the tenants surrendered without incident. Charges are pending against a 20-year-old male and a 22-year-old male.
