A motorcyclist died Friday evening after striking the side of his house in the 20700 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village, according to a police statement.
Richard Mark Sampson, 44, lost control of a 2002 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle when he turned onto Highland Hall Drive at about 5 p.m. Friday. The motorcycle accelerated, struck the curb, travelled across a grassy area and struck the side of the house, according to the police statement.
The force of that final strike sent Sampson and the motorcycle into the house through a side window. Minutes later, a police officer arrived and found Sampson inside the house, pinned underneath the motorcycle, police reported.
Sampson was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. No one else was injured, police reported.
