Masked Men Strike in Two Street Robberies

This crime summary is from the most recent weekly report for Jan. 16 through Jan. 24 from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

An aggravated assault occurred along Route 355 near Lakeforest mall in Gaithersburg between 3am and 4:45am on Friday, Jan. 20. The suspect assaulted the victim with a weapon. A 29-year-old male from Gaithersburg was arrested.

A residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Whetstone Drive in Gaithersburg -- off Route 355 -- between 11pm on Friday, Jan. 20 and 12:45pm on Saturday, Jan. 21. Unknown entry; unknown if anything was taken.

A robbery occurred in the 10000 block of Wedge Way in Club Hill at around 3:20pm on Saturday, Jan. 21. Three suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. All three suspects are described as Hispanic males, 18 to 20 years old. One of the suspects was 5’6” tall, weighed 160 pounds and had a mustache. A second suspect was 5’4” tall and had a black scarf over his face. The third suspect was 6’ tall.

A robbery occurred in the 9500 block of Briar Glenn Way in Patton Ridge at around 8:35pm on Saturday, Jan. 21. Four suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. All four suspects are described as black males. One was 5’6” to 5’7” tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a mustache and wearing a red t-shirt. The second suspect was 5’8” tall, wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie and had a red bandana around his neck. The third suspect was 6’1” tall, weighing 130 pounds and wearing a black hoodie and a blue bandana. The fourth suspect was 5’10” tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, and wearing a black jacket and black mask with eyeholes cut out.
