Juveniles Attacked, 12-Year-Old Girl Assaulted Near School

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

A commercial burglary was reported at the Moon of Lima restaurant on Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood between Thursday, March 17 and Friday, March 18. There were no signs of forced entry and no property was stolen.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18100 block of Kilrush Court in The Hamptons between 8:50 a.m. and 10:10 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Suspects entered the residence and removed property.

An assault occurred in front of Forest Oaks Middle School in Gaithersburg just before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18. The 12-year-old female victim was waiting for a ride when a 19-year-old homeless male approached and touched the girl. The girl immediately walked away. The subject followed the girl until her grandmother arrived. Officers nearby found the subject and he was arrested.

An armed robbery occurred at Washington Grove Lane and Flower Hill Way at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Two suspects approached a juvenile male at the McDonald's and asked him for a dollar. He refused then left the scene with a friend. The suspects followed and attacked them from behind with a heavy stick. Both suspects are described as black females, 5’5” or 5’6” tall, one weighing 120 to 130 pounds, the other weighing 140 to 160 pounds and between 14 and 16 years old.
