Melee at McDonald's, Five Burglaries and a Purse-Snatching

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9600 block of Horizon Run Road in Horizon Road between 9:15 a.m. and 5:15 pm. on Tuesday, March 1. There was no sign of forced entry into the home, but two locked bedroom doors were pried open. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19800 block of Chesley Knoll Drive in Gaithersburg between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. There was no sign of forced entry, but property was reported missing.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 18600 block of Blue Violet Lane in Flower Hill at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2. The suspect entered the home by lifting the rear glass slider off its track. After forcing open the bedroom door, the suspect fled when confronted by the homeowner. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black hoodie and light blue jeans.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle—the Cider Mill apartment complex—shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2. The female resident was asleep and awoke to a man standing at the foot of her bed. He fled immediately. The suspect is described as a white male, 25 or 26 years old, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, and wearing a white knit hat with black squares, a black sweater and black pants.
  • An aggravated assault occurred at the McDonald’s on Montgomery Village Avenue at around 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 3. Two customers in the drive-thru got into an argument with the McDonald's employee taking their order. The suspects went inside the restaurant, and one suspect assaulted the employee. A male customer in the dining room who tried to intervene was punched in the face. The suspects are both described as black males, 20 to 25 years old. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Choice Market at 18706 Walkers Choice Road shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, March 4. Officers responded to the commercial alarm and arrested a 26-year-old Germantown man they found nearby.
  • A purse snatch occurred at the bus stop near 8409 Snouffer School Road at around 7:20 pm on Saturday, March 5. The female victim was not injured as the suspect ran up from behind her and grabbed her purse. The suspect is described as a black male 27-30 years old, 5’9” tall and wearing a grey hoodie and black pants.
