Assault Between In-Laws, Home Invasion, Two Burglaries

Crime report covers Oct. 31 through Nov. 8

The following is the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

An attempted burglary occurred in the 10100 block of Ridgeline Drive in Middle Village on Tuesday, Nov. 1. A neighbor saw two suspects try to kick in the front door and then try to smash the sliding-glass door. Police were notified and the suspects fled. One suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old and wearing a red jacket with white squares on the back. The other suspect is described as a black male wearing a brown jacket.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9000 block of Turtle Dove Lane, east of Montgomery Village, between Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 4. Suspects vandalized the interior of the home.

A residential garage burglary occurred in the 8900 block of Alliston Hollow Way in the Hunters Woods community outside Gaithersburg between Thursday, Nov. 3 and Friday, Nov. 4. The home’s garage was opened and a gym bag containing an iPod, clothing and jewelry was taken from the unlocked vehicle. 

A home invasion robbery occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in the Cider Mill Apartments between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. An elderly female left her apartment unlocked while she went to the laundry room, then returned to discover a man inside her daughter’s bedroom holding a knife. The suspect took undisclosed property, then fled. The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5’6” tall, weighing 130 to 140 pounds and wearing a black zip-up hoodie.

A domestic-related aggravated assault occurred in the 18700 block of Nathans Place in South Village on Saturday, Nov. 5. A dispute between in-laws escalated, and one assaulted the other. A 34-year-old Poolesville man was arrested at the scene.
