Gas Line Struck on Stedwick Road

No indication yet of how long repairs will take.

Four hunderd yards of Stedwick Road—between Heron's Cove and the Montgomery Village Post Office—have been shut down while crews work to repair a ruptured gas line.

A Verizon contractor pierced the gas main at around 11am. Crews with Washington Gas are working to plug the leak while Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel look on as a precautionary measure. Montgomery County police have closed off Stedwick Road from the Sandy Spring Bank to Watkins Mill Road.

Crews on the scene did not know how long the repairs might take.
