Crime Report: Thefts, Two Robberies, Wife Stabs Husband with Scissors

The following information was supplied by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

This crime summary is from the weekly report for April 9 through April 17 from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

Three vehicle-related thefts were reported from two commercial parking lots near the Montgomery County Airpark outside Gaithersburg:

  • Overnight Monday April 9 to Tuesday April 10 at 8025 Cessna Ave. Forced entry; attempted vehicle theft.
  • Overnight Monday April 9 to Tuesday April 10 7520 Rickenbacker Drive in Gaithersburg. Vehicle was taken.
  • At 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 13 at 8100 Beechcraft Avenue in Gaithersburg. Vehicle parts taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Freestate Place in Whetstone between noon and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred behind the H-Mart, 9639 lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg, just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property. Police arrested two 16-year-old males from the Gaithersburg area and Daryl Malik Jackson, 19, of the 19000 block of Wheelwright Drive in Gaithersburg. Jackson is charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $1,000 and has a preliminary hearing May 11 in Montgomery County District Court.

An armed robbery occurred in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy in the Goshen Plaza shopping center—9140 Rothbury Drive in Montgomery Village — just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Both Suspects are described as black males, 18 to 26 years old, 5’9” tall, 160 to 170 pounds, wearing black or gray hoodies.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 18800 block of Walkers Choice Road in Montgomery Village at 8:25 a.m. on Friday, April 13. Police arrested Tennille Buie-Joyce, 32, of the 18800 block of Walkers Choice Rd. Several hours earlier, she stabbed her husband in the arm with a pair of scissors, according to police. She is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property. Her preliminary hearing is set for May 18 in Montgomery County District Court.

A garage burglary occurred in the 500 block of Odendhal Avenue in Gaithersburg around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, April 13. No forced entry; property taken.

An aggravated assault between known parties occurred in the 10000 block of Ridgeline Drive in Clubside on Monday, April 16. Police arrested Eric Thomas, 34, of the 8900 block of Century Drive in Gaithersburg. He is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and unlawful removal of property. He has a preliminary hearing May 11 in Montgomery County District Court.
