Crime Report: Sexual Assault, Three Robberies, Four Homes Burgled

This crime summary is from the weekly report for Sept. 3 through Sept. 11—the most recent available—from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

An attempted RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred in the 20000 block of Canebrake Court—in the East Village community of Montgomery Village—on Tuesday, Sept. 4 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Attempted forced entry. Nothing taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred occurred in the 9400 block of Emory Grove Road outside Gaithersburg on Wednesday, Sept. 5 between 8 am and 5:30 pm. Forced entry; property taken.

An ARMED ROBBERY occurred near the McDonald’s in the Goshen Plaza shopping center—on Goshen Road and Rothbury Drive in Montgomery Village—on Wednesday, Sept. 5 around 12:40 a.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and obtained property.

A STRONG-ARM ROBBERY occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle—the Cider Mill apartment complex of Montgomery Village—on Friday, Sept. 7 around 1:30 p.m. Two suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. Police arrested two juveniles from Gaithersburg, one 16 years old and the other 17 years old.

A RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred in the 19800 block of Filbert Drive—in the Hadley Farms community east of Montgomery Village—on Saturday, Sept. 8 between noon and 1:30 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

An attempted RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred on Saturday, Sept. 8 just after 8 p.m. in the 10100 block of Ridgeline Drive, in the Clubside neighborhood of Montgomery Village. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken. Police arrested Kennedy Martinez, 23, of the unit block of Michael Court in Gaithersburg. He faces four charges in Montgomery County District Court:

  • First-degree burglary
  • Second-degree assault
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Disturbing the peace

A SEXUAL ASSAULT was reported in the 19500 block of Clubhouse Road in Montgomery Village on Monday, Sept. 10 between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The suspect inappropriately touched the victim.

An ARMED ROBBERY occurred in the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road outside Gaithersburg on Tuesday, Sept. 11 between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Three suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

  • Suspect 1 - black male, 25 to 35 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, 155 to 160 pounds, short hair
  • Suspect 2 - black male, 23 to 25 years old, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, 185 to 200 pounds
  • Suspect 3 - black male, 23 to 25 years old, 5’9” to 5’10” tall, 130 to 140 pounds, short hair
