Crime Report: MV Hit by a Rash of Robberies

This crime summary is from the weekly report for Nov. 5 through Nov. 13—the most recent available—from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

A STRONG-ARM ROBBERY occurred at Centerway Road and Goshen Road in Montgomery Village on Friday, Nov. 9 at around 2:30 p.m. Four suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

  • Suspect 1 is described as a black male, 17 to 18 years old, with short hair and wearing a white sweatshirt under a black hoodie
  • Suspect 2 is described as a black male, 20 to 22 years old, with short hair and wearing a dark blue sweatshirt
  • Suspect 3 is described as a black male, 16 to 17 years old, with short hair
  • Suspect 4 is described as a black male 16 to 17 years old, with short hair

An ARMED ROBBERY occurred on Friday, Nov. 9 between 9:50 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the 9700 block of Brassie Place, in the Thomas Choice neighborhood of Montgomery Village. Two suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

  • Suspect 1 is described as a black male, 18 to 22 years old, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, 130 to 140 pounds, with a crew cut
  • Suspect 2 is described as a black male, 18 to 22 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, with a crew cut.

An ARMED ROBBERY occurred on Friday, Nov. 9 between 9:50 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the 9600 block of Brassie Place, in the Thomas Choice neighborhood of Montgomery Village. The victim was threatened with a weapon and had property taken. The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 22 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, with a crew cut.

A COMMERCIAL BURGLARY occurred at the Village Deli—811 Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg—on Sunday, Nov. 11 at around 5:45 p.m. Forced entry; property taken. Police arrested a 47-year-old male from Gaithersburg.

Four THEFTS FROM VEHICLES occurred between Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11 from vehicles on Leatherfern Terrace, Feathertree Way and Walkers Choice Road. One had forced entry. Items taken included a wallet and two items of women’s clothing.

A ROBBERY occurred outside of the Village Café—19230 Montgomery Village Ave., in the Montgomery Village Center—on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at around 2:45 a.m. The suspect—described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old—obtained property from the victim.
