Crime Report: A Wave of Robberies and Burglaries

The following information was supplied by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

This crime summary is from the weekly report for July 2 through July 10 from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 8800 block of Cross Country Place in Strawberry Knoll at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, July 2. The suspect is described as a male, 45 to 55 years old, 5’8” tall, 150 to 160 pounds.

A residential burglary occurred in the 1800 block of Windjammer Way, outside Gaithersburg at around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3. No forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of Cloverwood Court—off Snouffer School Road outside Gaithersburg—at around 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. Forced entry; unknown if anything was taken.

Three residential burglaries occurred in the 500 block of Odendhal Avenue in Gaithersburg between midnight on Wednesday, July 4 and 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10. No forced entry; property taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred at Shadow Oak Drive and Forest View Place, in Northgate at around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

A strong-arm robbery occurred at Tunstall Drive and Contour Road in South Village at around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18600 block of Grosbreak Terrace, in Quail Valley on Thursday, July 5 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:55 a.m.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8200 block of Rainbowview Place in East Village between 11 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 5. Forced entry; property taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 9600 Lost Knife Circle in the Cider Mill apartment complex at around 9:45 p.m. on Friday, July 6. Three juveniles arrested: a 16-year-old male from Gaithersburg, a 17-year-old male from Gaithersburg and a 17-year-old male from Germantown.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Ridgeline Drive, Gaithersburg between 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 8. Forced entry; property taken.

An armed robbery occurred at Meadow Pond Place and Shadow Oak Drive in Northgate at around 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 8. The first suspect is described as a black male, 6’ to 6’2” tall, 156 to 160 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black male, 6’ to 6’5” tall, 156 to 160 pounds.

A sexual assault occurred at Lois Green Conservation Park at 8711 Snouffer School Road—next to the Montgomery County Airpark outside Gaithersburg— at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9.

An aggravated assault occurred at the Wok Express Restaurant at 9615 Lost Knife Road—in the Off-Price Shopping Center in Montgomery Village—at around 7:20 p.m. on Monday, July 9. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 35 to 40 years old, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, and weighing 140 to 160 pounds.

A commercial burglary occurred at the United States Postal Office at 10079 Stedwick Road in Montgomery Village at around 7:35 p.m. on Monday, July 9. Forced entry; property taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred near the H-MART at 9639 Lost Knife Road—in the Off-Price Shopping Center in Montgomery Village—at around 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10.
