Burglaries Flare Near Flower Hill, Vandals Tag Horizon Run

The following information was supplied by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

This crime summary runs from Nov. 21 through Nov. 29 for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

A theft from vehicle occurred between Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the 17700 block of Calabar Drive, near the Flower Hill shopping center outside Montgomery Village. Unknown entry; property was taken.

A burglary occurred in the 500 block of Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg between 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 6:30 a.m.  Wednesday, Nov. 23. No forced entry; property taken.

A burglary occurred at , 18201 Contour Road in South Village, between 7:25 p.m. and 7:31 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. Forced entry; unknown if anything was taken. 

A burglary occurred in the 9300 block of Willow Creek Drive in South Village just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24. Forced entry; nothing taken.

Several vandalisms occurred between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 in the 9400 block and 9600 block of Horizon Run Road in Horizon Run. At least 12 vehicles, sidewalks and resident’s front doors were tagged with graffiti.

Two commercial burglaries occurred at Lakeforest mall, 701 Russell Ave in Gaithersburg:

  • In the Sears store between 11:37 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 1:16 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. No forced entry; property taken.
  • In the Backyard Inflatables store, sometime between Sunday, Nov. 27 and Monday, Nov. 28. No forced entry; property taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle, near the Flower Hill shopping center outside Montgomery Village, between 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25. Unknown entry; a stereo system was taken.              

A residential burglary occurred in the 8200 block of Shady Spring Drive, near the Flower Hill shopping center outside Montgomery Village, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. Forced entry; property taken.
