Montgomery County detectives have arrested a Montgomery Village man in connection with the Tuesday night armed robbery of a gas station a few blocks from his home.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, police responded to the Sunoco gas station at 20050 Goshen Road—next to the Giant grocery store in the Goshen Crossing Shopping Center—for a report that someone had demanded money from the employee behind the counter, displayed a handgun, took undisclosed cash and merchandise, and fled, according to police.

Yesterday, Trevor D. Mays, 29, was arrested at his home in the 9300 block of Bremerton Way, in the Partridge Place neighborhood of Patton Ridge—a few hundred yards from the Sunoco. He is charged with armed robbery, theft (between $1,000 and $10,000), illegally carrying a handgun and using a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime.
