Back-to-Back Armed Robberies Near Lakeforest Bus Stop

Crime summary covers July 18 through July 26.

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg. Arrests do not imply guilt.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 9600 block of Horizon Run Road in Horizon Run on Wednesday, July 20. One of the two suspects took undisclosed property from an alleged victim. Both suspects are described as black males between 20 and 25 years old. One of the suspects has a thin build; the other had a goatee and is 5’9” tall and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds.

An attempted burglary occurred in the 20300 block of Marketree Place in East Village on Thursday, July 21. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

An attempted burglary occurred in the 17800 block of Caddy Drive in the Mill Creek community outside Gaithersburg between Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. Suspects used force but were unable to gain entry into the residence. Loose change was taken from an unlocked car in the driveway.

An indecent exposure occurred at a bus stop on Goshen Road near Bramblebush Drive around 5 a.m. on Friday, July 22. The suspect exposed himself while at the bus stop, then fled. He is described as a black male, 6’0” tall, weighing 170 pounds.

A pair of armed robberies occured at the intersection of Lost Knife Road and Odend Hal Avenue -- near the Lakeforest Transit Center and the Asbury Village retirement community -- on consecutive days:

  • On Friday, July 22, two suspects robbed a victim of his property while threatening him with a weapon. Both suspects are described as Hispanic males between 20 and 30 years old. One suspect had a mustache and is 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighs 160 to 180 pounds. The other suspect is 5’11” to 6’1” tall and weighs 170 to 190 pounds.
  • On Saturday, July 23, three suspects robbed a victim while threatening him with a weapon. All three are described as 17 to 22 years old. The first suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds. The second suspect is a described as a black male 5’8” to 5’10” tall, weighing 150 to 180 pounds. The third suspect is described as a white male 5’9” to 5’11” tall, weighing 170 to 190 pounds.

An attempted burglary occurred in the 19100 block of Stedwick Drive on Saturday, July 23 between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken. 

A commercial burglary occurred at Prolist LLC, 8341 Beechcraft Avenue near the Montgomery County Airpark on Saturday, July 23. Forced entry; property removed.

A residential burglary occurred in the 20000 block of Cinnabar Drive in Hadley Farms on Monday, July 25. Property removed; no sign of forced entry.
