7-Eleven Clerk Stabbed to Death in Montgomery Village

Police: Man arrested at the scene.

UPDATED 4 p.m.—The fatal stabbing of a 7-Eleven clerk in Montgomery Village early Thursday has led to an arrest.

Shaun David King, 36, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of store clerk Abdul Ghaffar, 63, at around 2 a.m.

Ghaffar, 63, of the 18500 block of Cherry Laurel Lane in Gaithersburg, died at the hospital Thursday from injuries he suffered when a man stabbed him several times at the 7-Eleven at 9051 Snouffer School Road.

Police said the attack was “unprovoked.” A co-worker called 911.

King was arrested by patrol officers at the convenience store. Police claim that King had blood on his hands and had a bloody box cutter in his pocket when he was arrested.
