Misinformation being 'broadcasted' by MVF/ARB to Village Residents

Not only did the following appear recently in the Village news but it is also documented on MVF's own web site under ARCHITECTURAL STANDARDS/VILLAGE WIDE.  {Note their own words VILLAGE WIDE.} So, MV residents, don't believe or rely on what you read in black and white.  ARB still insistent I remove house numbers from above my front door in 90 days or face the 'wrath of hell' (penalty fees and even threat of lien on my home with their new and highly paid Legal Counsel on my heels).  LOL!  They have also stated over the years regarding other architectural issues that they are willing to reach decision or approve "based on individual basis".  That too is falsehood unless you are in total unison with MVF on all aspects of 'how they run and maintain the Village (or fail to run and maintain).  Don't question The Powers That Be or get on their bad side 'cause they will turn even something as trivial as house numbers into the (unnecessary) 'battle of the century'.  Hummm!  Of course, their web site on this issue is a outdated as most other issues residents are so frustrated about.  Most only acceptable ARB and HOA critieria date back to the 1960's or 1980's! Last revision for house number 'criteria' was January 2010.  Sad!  If you're still holding on to your sixties cry for "Flower Power" and love those gold and avocado green colors i.e., MV is the place for you.  LOL!

Village-wide Guidelines and Policies HOUSE ADDRESS NUMBER GUIDELINES OBJECTIVE/GOAL: To provide homeowners with guidelines for the installation of house address numbers to comply not only with Montgomery Village’s community standards but also with the Montgomery County Fire and Safety Code. GUIDELINE DETAILS:

  1. All residential house address numbers should not exceed 5 inches in height. 6 inch numbers are not permitted in any residential community – they are for commercial use only. All house address numbers must match the original in design and material unless approval has been received from the Architectural Review Board for different numbers. Address numbers should be placed on contrasting backgrounds to make them more visible – light on dark, dark on light. Address numbers should be easily seen from the street. Bushes and shrubs should always be kept cut or pruned back so the numbers are clearly visible at all times. ADDRESS NUMBERS SHOULD BE PLACED TO THE LEFT, RIGHT OR IMMEDIATELY OVERHEAD OF THE ENTRANCEWAY. If numbers have to be relocated from the original location for any reason, an application (PIR) must be submitted to the Architectural Review Board. Additional sets of house address numbers require prior approval and will be considered on an individual basis.

All Architectural Standards information including community criteria is available on www.montgomeryvillage.com. Approved January 2010
