Obits: Montgomery Village Medicinal Chemist Dies

The 84-year-old Montgomery Village man worked for the Food and Drug Administration for 15 years.

A Montgomery Village man who retired from the Food and Drug Administration in 1999 after 15 years of service died from cancer, The Washington Post reports.

James H. Short died June 8 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, according to the report. He was 84.

Short held leadership positions with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, his wife told The Washington Post. He belonged to Darnestown Presbyterian Church.

Among Short's survivors are his wife of 40 years, Janice Blackburn Short of Montgomery Village; a daughter; three stepchildren; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
