Gaithersburg Nonprofit Receives $62,000 Grant

Community Support Services: Money will help buy a townhouse for women with developmental disabilities.

A Gaithersburg nonprofit got some help buying a townhouse to help two women live independent lives.

The Weinberg Foundation gave Community Support Services $62,000 to help purchase the home, a spokesperson for the nonprofit said Wednesday. 

Community Support Services works with people who have developmental disabilities. The organization has provided residential services to 78 adults and six children at more than 40 homes throughout Montgomery County.

It is the fourth home Weinberg Foundation has helped Community Support Services purchase since 2011, a spokesperson said.
