Youth Against Hunger - National Day to Serve

Please join us for our monthly Youth Against Hunger program on Sunday, September 15 where we will also commemorate the Day to Serve by asking everyone to also bring any nonperishable food items to donate to Nourish Now.

Last year, the Governors of Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, and the Mayor of Washington, D.C. came together to support Day to Serve, a unique event that inspired diverse people of this wide Mid-Atlantic region of the United States to put aside their political, religious, and cultural differences to strengthen our collective communities by working together to “feed the hungry and heal the planet.”

The Youth September Hunger program brings diverse communities together to make sandwiches for the homeless and to raise awareness on the importance of helping the needy.

This month’s event is sponsored by Episcopal Church of the Ascension Gaithersburg Lenten collection.
