Jacobs has show at TAG Frederick

Phyllis Jacobs will have a solo show at The Artists’ Gallery in November entitled "Pencil Box and Coloring Book."  The recipient of a 2010-11 grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, Jacobs thinks risk-taking is not just for young artists.  In the past some of Jacobs’ acrylic canvases have been large enough to cover a wall, but in her new show these pieces have given way to small works on paper mounted on cradled birch panels.  “However,” she says, “the sense of touch remains.”  The exhibition opens Nov. 1, with a reception from 5 to 8:30pm on Sat., Nov. 2.
