The three incumbents in Gaithersburg’s upcoming elections won’t be facing any challengers.
Mayor Sidney Katz and Gaithersburg City Council members Henry Marraffa Jr. and Michael Sesma were the only candidates who filed to run, according to city elections clerk Lauren Klingler.
The deadline to file was 5 p.m. Friday. Gaithersburg’s city elections are Nov. 5.
Katz has served as Gaithersburg Mayor since 1998.
Sesma, who is council vice president, was elected in 2005.
Marraffa has been on the council since 2000, and had served a prior term from 1995 to 1999.
Gaithersburg’s mayor and council serve four-year terms. The city holds staggered elections every two years.
Council members Jud Ashman, Cathy Drzyzgula and Ryan Spiegel are due for re-election in 2015.
