Hydorn, Driscoll and Bort Win MVF Election

The two incumbents and the former board member will take their seats later this month.

The Montgomery Village Foundation’s board president, vice president and a former board member have won this year’s election, easily beating out two outspoken critics of recent MVF actions.

Board president Bob Hydorn was the top vote-getter in the mail-in election, followed closely by vice president John Driscoll. Pamela Bort claimed the final spot by wide margin over John Horton and Don O’Neill, the fourth- and fifth-place finishers.

Hydorn, Driscoll and Bort ran as a slate. Horton and O’Neill were especially critical of plans for building a concession stand with restrooms in South Valley Park, which as Montgomery Village’s most divisive issue.

The ballots were counted Saturday morning at the MVF office, a month after being sent to each of the Village’s 10,000-plus homeowners. Each vote by a homeowner counts twice, while renters’ vote counts once.

Bob Hydorn of Patton Ridge has been on the board for six years, the last five of which the board selected him its president.

Pam Bort joined the board in 2008 then lost her reelection bid , finishing fourth out of six candidates. She is a member of the South Village Homes Corp. board of directors.
