Why Go: If anyone is going to prove how far the championship-minded Wolverines are going this season, it’s undefeated Churchill, who rank among Maryland’s top teams this year. (The boys’ JV teams face off at 7 p.m.)

Why Go: School spirit, family fun, the sights and sounds of the Whetstone ES community

Pricing: Free for Whetstone families

3. Wolverines Football Hits the Road

When/Where: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rockville High School, 2100 Baltimore Road

Why Go: After three agonizing close losses in a row, Watkins Mill heads to Rockville (0-4) on the Rams’ homecoming night.

Pricing: $5 general admission, $3 for students, $1 for children

4. Yard Sale to Benefit Girl Scout Troop

When/Where: 8 a.m. Saturday19805 Cochrane Way (off Snouffer School Road)

Why Go: Yard sale with household items, books, toys, TVs, etc. All proceeds benefit the Girl Scouts.

5. Multi-Family Garage Sale in Whetstone

When/Where: 9 a.m. Saturday at 18828 S. Meadow Fence Road

Why Go: Sears workbench, tools, microwave, toys, books, sewing machines, sewing cabinet, sewing supplies, drafting table, lamp and chair, Container Store stand-alone shelves, Closet-Maid wire shelving, holiday decorations, bookcase, campaign chest and more.

When/Where: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 9801 Centerway Road.

Why Go: Farm-fresh fruits and veggies, plus a wide array of meats and dairy products.

7. One-on-One Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday at the , 506 S. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg

Why Go: The Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs—in partnership with the Montgomery County Housing Fair Planning Committee and the City of Gaithersburg—invites all county homeowners who are falling behind in their mortgage payments or are facing foreclosure to attend this foreclosure counseling event.

Pricing: Free

8. St. Martin’s Fall Festival

When/Where: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 115 S. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg

Why Go: A day full of carnival games, arts, crafts, prizes and more. There will be games for kids of all ages. Bar-T will bring a Moon Bounce, Airbrush Tattoos, popcorn, sno-cones and cotton candy. Brusters Ice Cream and Slice of Olde Towne Pizza will bring the grub. You just bring your family and friends and be part of the fun.
