It’s Thursday. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it. Downside? You’ve got no idea what to do during your two days of freedom.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around Montgomery County for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

Where/When: 211 Rio Blvd., Gaithersburg. Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: St. Patrick's Day technically falls next Thursday, but be sure to don your finest green duds if you plan to head out to this annual tradition in Gaithersburg.

Where/When: , 19840 Century Blvd, Germantown. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: This will be a perfect opportunity to pick up all those books you have every intention of reading at the beach this summer.

Where/When: , 700 Fallsgrove Dr, Rockville. Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: Have you been fretting over your bracket all week? Well, here's a chance for your kids to weigh in on the madness. Kids ranging in age from fifth through ninth grade can team up with friends for games against the City of Rockville Police Department at this party, which will feature basketball contests, a DJ, video games and crafts. As an added bonus, parents can come and watch basketball for free. Registration is required.

Pricing: Tickets are $5 for residents and $6 for nonresidents.

Where/When:, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Saturday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Ganz, whose last Strathmore was performed before a sold-out crowd, will be accompanied by the National Philharmonic as he performs Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor.

Pricing: Tickets range from $32 to $79. Children and teens between the ages of 7 and 17 can attend for free.

Where/When: , 16 Chestnut St, Gaithersburg. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: According to the event listing, "The Maryland Home Business expo presents home-based business opportunities to future entrepreneurs. This is the event where business owners are made. There are over 50 business opportunities to choose from. Give-aways every hour and FREE child care for one hour."

Pricing: Attendance is free with a donation to Manna Food Center.
