Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

It’s Thursday. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it. Downside? You’ve got no idea what to do during your two days of freedom.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around Montgomery County for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

1. 

Find out what's happening in Montgomery Villagewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: North Creek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Road on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: It's one of Montgomery Village's oldest and most beloved traditions. This year marks the show's 37th iteration, and some entrants date back decades. Light refreshments will be provided. The Artists' Reception is Sunday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where/When: Seneca Creek Community Church, 13 Firstfield Rd, Gaithersburg. Sunday, 9:15 a.m.

Why Go: If you need a shed a few pounds and lack the motivation, or if you're wishing you could get those New Year's Resolutions back on track, then be sure to come out to hear Danny Cahill recount his experience as a contestant on season 8 of the NBC's "The Biggest Loser."

Where/When: , 100 Gibbs St, Rockville. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Can't make it to New Orleans this year? Don't worry - Rockville is throwing a Mardi Gras festival a little closer to home! The festivities will be complete with a parade, music, arts and crafts - and even a moon bounce! Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Pricing: The festival is free to attend.

4. 

Where/When: , 12901 Town Commons Dr., Germantown. Saturday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Bogart's "unique brand of boogie-woogie, jazz-infused blues" is sure to please a wide-range of music lovers.

Pricing: Tickets, $25 to $30.

5. 

Where/When: , 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Saturday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: If you've been itching for classical musical all week - this is your best bet. Symphonic Explorations, a free concert pre-lecture, will be offered before the show.

Pricing: Tickets range from $33 to $93.
