Comcast Launches New Home Control Services

Comcast has expanded its Xfinity Home suite of services and enhanced its energy management features with the launch of Xfinity Home Control in Montgomery Village. Now, customers can purchase smart home solutions like video monitoring and the ability to schedule and remotely access lighting and thermostat controls, without the professional security monitoring offered with the company’s other Xfinity Home services launched last year. Also, just in time for summer, the new cloud-based Ecosaver feature will help customers potentially reduce their energy use and save money on their utility bills year-round.  EcoSaver, when paired with the Xfinity Home thermostat, learns the unique heating and cooling patterns of a home and makes automatic adjustments to the thermostat based on real-time weather data, the thermal characteristics of the house and the temperature preferences of the occupants. Over time, the system adapts to user inputs to help reduce energy while keeping the home comfortable. In addition to the EcoSaver feature, Xfinity Home Control provides customers with the ability to get real-time text and email alerts when doors and windows open or close, watch live streaming video of their home via wireless cameras, manage home devices including lights and thermostats remotely or by using automated schedules, and more.
