Curfew? Not a Good Idea

CURFEW? NOT A GOOD IDEA

Why would Montgomery County use valuable police man-hours to enforce such a lame brain program? Are there not enough issues in the county for the police to keep more than busy? I support the efforts of our police department, but certainly not the idea suggested by my friend Ike Leggett, then supported by Chief Manger and County Councilman Craig Rice.

If young people are going to act up, it does not only happen after 11 p.m. on weeknights or midnight on weekends. It happens after school and early evening, or after an evening activity at school or a community center. What is next, will young people not be allowed to have private parties for fear of issues happening in a neighborhood? This is a free society; Montgomery County should not become Big Brother watching everyone.

If there are issues in a particular area, send in PCAT, one of Montgomery Counties finest police teams. They will handle the matter in no time at all.
