Exhibitions at The Artists' Galler

Thru September 30 at The Artists’ Gallery in downtown Frederick, Md.  “A Painter's Moving Tribute to the Quilt”: Montgomery Village resident Linda S. Sherman's abstract paintings include a 4 by 8 ft installation of 32 squares that will be rearranged during the show.  The piece recycles paintings the way quilts reuse fabric.  “Train Wrecks”: Julie Maynard’s mixed media pieces zoom in on the aftermath of accidents.  Her collage work is a form of painting with paper, incorporating found objects.  Aug. 31 through Sept. 30 at The Artists’ Gallery, 4 East Church St, Frederick, open Fri-Sun 12-5, www.the-artists-gallery.org.  Opening reception Sat., Sept. 1 from 5 to 9 pm.
