VIDEO: Here Come the Holidays

The Montgomery Village Foundation's annual tree lighting puts the season in mirthful motion.

More than 200 miles from the teeming horde crammed into New York's Rockefeller Center, dozens of yuletide die-hards gathered 'round Montgomery Village's very own emblem of the holiday season last night to spark up a tree-lighting tradition 40 years in the making.

Hot chocolate warmed the weather-weary crowd at the Montgomery Village Center. Members of the Montgomery Village Community Band played a medley of festive favorites. MVF board president Bob Hydorn led the countdown, the switch was flipped, the 30-foot spruce came alive with hundreds of glowing bulbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus made a grand entrance that sent the little 'uns into a yuletide tizzy.
