Timetable for Snow on Tuesday in Maryland

Travel may be difficult during part of the winter weather advisory period.

The weather missed the memo about spring (and the obituary for Old Man Winter), apparently.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for snow, effective from 6 a.m. to midnight on Tuesday.

According to the forecast, the Baltimore-Washington area will get 1 to 3 inches of snow, with points north and west of Interstate 95 slated to get the highest amounts.

Snow will start falling mid-morning, with the heaviest snow expected late in the morning and early afternoon, according to the weather service.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's County as well as Baltimore City are under the advisory.

A winter weather advisory means snow will cause travel difficulties.

Roads will be snow-covered and slippery mid-morning, according to the weather service, which said accumulations would become slushy by the afternoon when temperatures rise above freezing.

Temperatures will be in the upper 20s and low 30s in the morning, rising above freezing to the upper 30s in the afternoon.
