Grab the Sunscreen! Maryland, Virginia, DC to Get Hit with 'Heatwave'

Oh, warmth: How we've missed you. Montgomery County should hit the 50s this weekend -- enjoy it while it lasts.

OK. So, we won't exactly be walking on sunshine, but at least the weather in our region will finally let us stop huddling in clouds of despair.

After a deep freeze that seems to have lasted — What, 10 years? — temperatures fit for humans are making their way into Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC.

The weather wizards are predicting increasingly warm temperatures,  peaking in the 50s on Sunday. Then, you guessed it, some freezing temperatures return — with a chance of snow again on Monday.

The Weather Channel  forecast says Montgomery County will hit a high of 42 on Friday -- at least it's above freezing -- then climb to 48 on Saturday and 53 on Sunday.

Highs early next week drop back to around 40 with chances for snow and freezing rain.
