Surf Report: Must-See Maryland Websites

The Gaithersburg Book Festival's blog and grocery store penalties.

Looking for someplace fresh on the Internet? Here is Patch's weekly round-up of must-see Web destinations — many of which are geared specifically for Montgomery County residents.

  • The Gaithersburg Book Festival may not be until May 21, but its blog is updated regularly with book news, links to reviews, short stories and more.
  • Maryland Politics Watch reports on the Chevy Chase Land Company's plans for the areas at Chevy Chase Lake close to the proposed stop for the Purple Line.
  • May 3 is National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day and NIH is holding a research panel videocast that day on the subject. Watching the videocast is free, but you'll have to register first.
  • TBD looks at nine months' worth of penalties local grocery stores received regarding weights and measures.
