Gaithersburg Man Killed in Derwood Crash
Standford Wilson Jr., 61, died from his injuries, Montgomery County police said.

(UPDATED) A Gaithersburg man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Derwood on Friday.
According to police, Standford Wilson Jr., 61, of the 20000 block of Mattingly Terrace, died at a local hospital from injuries he suffered when his BMW X5 veered off Shady Grove Road and struck several trees and a fence.
The crash occurred at around 12:20 p.m., just west of Muncaster Mill Road.
Police have not determined what caused Wilson’s vehicle to leave the roadway.
The fatal crash shut down the westbound lane of Shady Grove Road, between Mill Run and Muncaster Mill.

RIP and God Bless his soul and keep his family during this time. I saw the vehicle. I have never seen anything like that before in my life. Very, very sad.
