This crime summary is from the weekly report for Sept. 10 through Sept. 18—the most recent available—from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

Two THEFTS FROM VEHICLES occurred in the 19200 block of Racine Court in the Stedwick community of Montgomery Village overnight between Monday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 11. Forced entry.  DVD monitors and a GPS unit was stolen.

A RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred in the 400 block of Blue Silk Lane—outside Montgomery Village—on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The report has not yet been filed.

A COMMERCIAL BURGLARY and VEHICLE THEFT occurred between Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Wednesday, Sept. 12, at The Care of Trees located at 8000 Queenair Drive, just north of the Montgomery County Airpark outside Montgomery Village. Forced entry; property taken.

Five of the six THEFTS FROM VEHICLES that occurred in the Strawberry Knoll community outside Montgomery Village on Thursday, Sept. 13 probably between 1:30 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. GPS units were taken from two of the five vehicles, which were parked on Bannister Court and Glendower Road. A fifth vehicle was on Severn Terrace. 

A STRONG-ARM ROBBERY occurred outside of 18407 Lost Knife Circle—at the Cider Mill apartment complex in Montgomery Village—on Friday, Sept. 14 around 11:20 p.m. The suspect attacked the victim and removed property. Police arrested Yoni Sanchez, 28, of an unknown address in Gaithersburg. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bond, and faces six criminal charges in Montgomery County District Court:

• robbery
• second-degree assault
• reckless endangerment
• attempted second-degree sex offense
• third-degree sex offense
• fourth-degree sex offense

A RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY occurred in the 17700 block of Hazelcrest Drive in the Emory Grove community outside Montgomery Village on Saturday, Sept. 15. The suspect is known to the victim.

A GARAGE BURGLARY occurred in the 10500 block of Mercado Way in the Stedwick community of Montgomery Village sometime between Saturday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 18. Property was taken.
